Scribe Transmittal Form

Use the Scribe Transmittal Form to provide critical information and files to maximize clarity and efficiency when producing work using the Well-Formed Document Workflow.

The Scribe transmittal form is meant to cover the work commonly done within full-service projects: scribing, editing, proofreading, design, typesetting, web PDF, ePub, and indexing.

Required Fields

Only fill in the necessary fields. Others can be left blank.

Any details considered to be a default treatment for a publisher should be listed in the publisher specification. Scribe should regularly confirm specifications and query anything that may be out of date or inconsistent. Anything standard per the specification does not need to be mentioned; only project-specific aspects and deviations from the specification need to be noted.

If any instructions represent boilerplate, standing instructions for Scribe to use, they will be added to the publisher specification. Contact support[at]scribenet.com at any time to request a copy of the specification Scribe has for your organization.

Numerous Services

The transmittal form encompasses numerous services and options.

The fields included in the form represent the information necessary to complete tasks within projects. By providing this information at the outset, overall administrative time is reduced. Gathering this information enables Scribe to put together the appropriate work plan for each project, minimizing the back-and-forth of querying about critical issues.

The Well-Formed Document Workflow (WFDW) involves working with various programs, proprietary systems, proprietary and publicly available tools, and a variety of file types. Outputs must meet the requirements of the WFDW, distribution standards, and publisher specifications. Providing all available files, project-specific information, and instructions is the first step in achieving a successful outcome.

Refer to the documentation pages on scribenet.com for information about Scribe’s procedures and recommended approaches for each available service.
